G'day everyone,
Today I will be making a slitting saw arbor for the milling machine. I have used these slitting saws previously in the die filer project, however the arbor I made back then was poorly designed and thus had run out issues and was not compact.
Having now switched my tooling over to a 20mm morse taper collet, I am having to remake all of my tooling to fit the new collet, and this includes the slitting saw arbor. Now that I am remaking it I will be trying a new design method which will try to minimize run out and make the clamping system more compact.
The tool will be made on the metal lathe from some 12l14 steel. I hope you enjoy the video. Cheers
