In theory, democracy is supposed to curb the abuse of power. In practice it becomes a lot more complex.

In this section of an interview with UNESCO Futures Chair Prof Sohail Inayatullah, we discuss the crunch issue of power, and whether his Causal Layered Analysis methodology can help deal with The Hubris Syndrome, by mitigating the intoxication of power.

He explains how important it is for one to know their own power, and be in control of that, when faced with those who would exercise 'power over'.
