Sleep problems and short sleep are common in East Asian societies, and Singapore is no exception, with about half of the adult population reporting dissatisfaction with their sleep.
In this talk and discussion, Asst Prof Julian Lim from Centre For Sleep and Cognition, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, will address some important questions about this deep-rooted problem: What are the causes of our troubled relationship with sleep? What are some of the consequences of insufficient or poor-quality sleep? And what strategies can we use to overcome these challenges? Finally, Asst Prof Lim will share recent research findings on using mindfulness-based approaches to help people beat insomnia and have better nights in bed.
