This tutorial using DIY Felted Wool Dryer Balls is a great DIY tutorial for anyone who wants to save a bit of money on doing laundry. These dryer balls are sooooo easy to make that anyone can do this DIY tutorial.
Dryer Balls are a perfect solution for anyone who is looking for a more natural alternative to dryer sheets. Dryer sheets can contain many harsh chemicals and toxins. Dryer Balls, on the other hand, are 100% natural and obviously free from harsh chemicals and toxins. Just toss a few of the Dryer Ball in your dryer with your wet clothes. The Dryer Balls will shorten drying time by dispersing moisture and allowing the hot air in your dryer to circulate more effectively. This saves energy and is more cost effective! They also help to reduce static and soften your clothes. Want to add a fresh scent to your laundry? Simply add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the Dryer Balls before tossing them in the dryer. My favorites are lavender essential oil and lemon grass essential oil.
This DIY tutoral will take you through step-by-step instructions on how to make wool felted dryer balls.
When choosing out the wool yarn to use in this DIY tutorial, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
*Make sure you use wool yarn that is 100% wool. I like to check the package to make sure it is 100% wool, some yarns will say "wool" on the front of the package and then contain several other types of materials. Be sure to check! Your Dryer Balls will only "felt" together if they are 100% wool!
*Choose colors of wool yarn that are colorfast (meaning they won't dye your clothes!). I would recommend staying away from bright reds and purples. I haven't had any issues with the colored dryer balls I made in this DIY tutoral. When in doubt, stick to the lighter colors!
I hope you enjoy these as much as I do! Thank you for watching and happy crafting!
