"We have worked after the summit meeting, Crown Prince Abdullah and President Bush, Crawford, Texas last spring on getting an agreement between the various Palestinian factions to work with the Palestinian Authority in order to move the peace process forward. We have not succeeded because the targeted assassinations of Palestinian leaders by Israel continues, the closures continue, the uprooting of trees and the demolitions of homes continues, the humiliation of the occupation continues. And that environment makes it difficult to move the two parties together."

"We condemn terrorism in all its forms and all its shapes. Any time you kill innocent people, it's condemnable whether it is perpetuated by one side or the other. Our objective is to move beyond this violence and towards a situation where people can live normal lives."

STORYLINE:
The foreign policy advisor to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia accused Israel on Thursday of jeopardising the latest peace plan for the Middle East.
While he condemned violence instigated by both Israelis and Palestinians, Adel Al-Jubeir went on to say that Israeli actions such as targeting Palestinian leaders, implementing road blocks and demolishing Palestinian houses, were making it harder to bring the two parties together.
Al-Jubeir called on Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to review his policies towards the Palestinians, stressing that it had been two years since the Israeli leader promised his people peace and security.
Speaking at a press conference at the Saudi Embassy in Washington, Al-Jubeir also spoke about the impact of the Sharm-el Sheikh and Aqaba summit, saying that action taken by both Israelis and Palestinians would determine whether or not the peace would be attained.
Asked about Saudi Arabia's involvement in financing the militant Palestinian organisation Hamas, Al-Jubeir denied that his government dealt directly with the group.
Al-Jubeir said Saudi Arabia aids the Palestinian Authority through international relief organisations as the UN High Commission for Refugees, the Red Cross, the Red Crescent and their affiliates.
