Government has admitted that it's left with an egg on its face due to the escape of convicted murderer and rapist, Thabo Bester from the Mangaung Correctional Centre. Bester escaped the facility in May last year through a cover-up involving the staging of a fire in his prison cell. Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, briefed the media in Pretoria on the outcomes of the cabinet meeting that took place on the 19th of March. The department of correctional services has since taken over the privately run prison.
