How to check to see if a color wheel is spinning inside a DLP Projector. This is an XD500u but the general process is the same for most DLP projectors. Checking the color wheel is useful if you are having lamp shut down/start up problems or weird, erratic color changes while projecting video , images or the menu. Perform at your own risk! This exposes you to potentially scary voltages. If you are not 100% sure, don't try. You can make a lot of things worse if you are not completely prepared to handle this.
