COVID-19 infections in Germany have reached a new high. The 7-day incidence, the number of new infections per 100.000 inhabitants in seven days, is currently 940.6.
Starting in March, Germany will require COVID-19 vaccines for healthcare workers. Unvaccinated staff could be banned from work or even fired. DW spoke to a nurse who works in a COVID ward herself, but says she won't get vaccinated – whatever the risk.
German MPs in the Bundestag are to debate a general vaccine mandate for the first time on Wednesday. Chancellor Olaf Scholz has backed such a mandate.
