David Ciepley is a former associate professor of political science at the University of Denver. He spent the last year as a Berggruen fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies in the Behavorial Sciences at Stanford working on a book on the two-hundred-year effort of Americans to keep their corporate economy compatible with constitutional democracy. In this Berggruen Lecture, Professor Ciepley covers how corporate governance has heavily influenced businesses firms, universities, towns, churches, and most importantly the modern constitutional state itself.
