TROUBLE SHOOTING: Make sure you use a FLOATING LINE like a floating braid or HOLD YOUR ROD TIP UP. Heavy line sinking lower than the blade messes up the action bad, particularly on long casts. Make sure the eyelet is nice and loose in the blade, or add a big spit ring. You should bend the eyelet upwards a bit, sometimes this will clean up how straight it tracks AND boost your action. You want it to track really straight for fan casting coves or working weed edges.
BUBBLES: 1/8th inch or smaller hole drilled through the J in jitterbug and the G in jitterbug on the blade causes a bunch of extra bubbles and splashing. Want even better bubbles? also add a hole at the far tips of the blade.
RODS: I use long rods off the bank so I can send the bigger bugs a mile. BUT, off the kayak I throw 6-6.5 foot rods just because I find it a little more practical to deal with.
