I found this gem of an heirloom squash at a local farm and promptly bought 1/2 a dozen of them! I had never tried one before, and this was an amazing, delicious surprise! Not only was it fantastic for eating--sweet and nutty--but it produced the most creamy smooth puree that I am excited to try in pumpkin pie!
