Hello everybody, Today is a different version of a classic recipe. If you want the authentic version please watch my other Djon Djon rice video. This is a faster way to get dinner on the table but its still full of that classic Haitian flavor. You can use this as a base and add more to it to make even more flavorful like diced onion and bacon bits garlic powder bell peppers.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons Peanut oil (or veggie oil)
3 cups rinsed Jasmine rice
2 teaspoons Salt
3 tablespoons Djon Djon rice liquid seasoning (or maggi cubes)
*don't buy online its way more expensive! go to a island type grocery store. *
1/2 homemade Haitian 'Epis' seasoning (see my video for the recipe)
15oz Can Sweet Peas (drained)
2 1/2 cups water
Instructions
heat oil
add rice and stir to coat
add all other ingredients (except peas & water) and stir
turn off saute and add water and peas
scrape down the edges so all is under water
Low pressure 12 minutes then quick release.
