Pholourie
Pholourie is in fact an appetizer from Trinidad and most people cook it as a snack. You'll probably see this dish at birthday parties. The snack consists of a split pea batter that is seasoned with hot peppers and many flavorings. The batter is cooked in hot oil and fried. You can eat it with different kinds of sauces or chutneys on the side and the taste will certainly not disappoint you.

Curried Crab and Dumplings

This is a famous Tobago dish and what you see is a blue crab cooked down in a delicious curry sauce.
If you want to make this at your home you'll simply need to clean the crabs, soak them in lime water, then drain them. They are later mixed with celery, pimento peppers, onions, garlic, and chives. Then, you just wait for them to marinate and put them into a pot with curry powder paste, coconut milk, and hot peppers.
The dumplings are prepared with a mixture of flour, grated cassava, sugar, salt, and water. You mix them with the crab and once prepared, curried crab and dumplings are put in the same bowl with sauce. We highly recommend this dish, you won't regret trying it if you haven't tried it before!

Doubles

If you ever find yourself in Trinidad or Tobago, you must try Doubles! We bet residents of these islands are really proud of this dish! Doubles are often served for breakfast and they consist of two fried split-pea-based roti (flatbread) with a channa (chickpea) and potato curry sandwiched in between.
You can eat them with anything you want including pepper sauce, a tangy cilantro sauce, tamarind sauce, grated coconut, or grated cucumber.
The popular dish got its name from the two pieces of fried bread: Doubles.
If one of the places on your bucket list you want to go to is Trinidad or Tobago, and if you ever decide to go there, you'll certainly come across a stall set up on the pavement, when this happens just wait in line so you can get your Doubles and enjoy them!

Anyone who had ever tasted Fish Broth will tell you that there's nothing better! If you're a seafood fan, you'll certainly enjoy this dish! Curry Duck

Curry duck is one of the most popular dishes in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean. The bowl you're seeing is made out of Muscovy duck pieces, fresh Caribbean green seasoning, curry powder, and veggies and is completed with roti or rice.

Soursop aka Guanabana is a fruit that has an interesting flavor which is something between pineapple and papaya and it grows in the tropical Americas. When it comes to Soursop ice cream, the dish is probably one of the most unique dishes in Trinidad. Just like the fruit that it's made from, you can either love it or hate it. There's no between.
The best flavor doesn't hit you at first but rather forms, shortly after you really taste the creamy treat.
The ice cream is made with fresh soursop, which can be found in almost every Caribbean Market.

Chow
One thing the Caribbean islands are known for is their enormous choice of tropical fruits. So, it's kind of understandable that Trinidadians often use these fruits in their popular dishes. For instance, the delicious Chow is made out of pineapple and mango, with salt, scotch bonnet peppers, garlic.
