President Biden made a surprise visit to Kyiv and announced more aid for Ukraine on Monday, just days before the one-year anniversary of the Russian invasion. During the visit, Biden asked Congress for another half-billion dollars in aid for Ukraine, adding to the billions in U.S. aid already provided since the beginning of the war. But a viral video post on Twitter claims Biden recently announced some of that money would go toward supporting Ukrainian pensions and several VERIFY viewers messaged us to ask if that’s true.
