HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE TO FOCUS THE COUNTRY'S ATTENTION ON TOUGHER GUN LAWS....
WHEN THEY TAKE PART IN A NATIONWIDE WALKOUT THIS WEEK.

IT'S BEING ORGANIZED BY A YOUTH-LED BRANCH OF THE WOMEN'S MARCH ORGANIZATION CALLED EMPOWER.

"I think that there's a special place in most of our hearts for young people. And when our legislators hear young people coming forward, how do you ignore that?"
STUDENTS, TEACHERS AND SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS ARE EXPECTED TO LEAVE THEIR CLASSROOMS ON WEDNESDAY AT 10 A.M. FOR 17 MINUTES,
TO STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE 17 VICTIMS AT MARJORY STONEMAN DOUGLAS HIGH SCHOOL.

"There have been a lot of people criticizing like, why are we going to listen to a bunch of 17-year-olds who don't have the credentials to be talking about these things? But historically, youth have led all the major movements in America."
THE SCHOOL MASSACRE HAS LED TO RENEWED DEBATES ABOUT GUN CONTROL AND SCHOOL SAFETY AT ALL LEVELS.

" Because of these gun laws, people that I know, people that I love have died and I will never be able to see them again."

"We're gonna do something about this horrible situation that's going on. We're all going to figure it out together."
BUT THE STUDENTS AREN'T WAITING ON THE SIDELINES FOR LAWMAKERS TO COME UP WITH SOLUTIONS.
