THERE’S A CHANGE COMING
We miss being on stage so much, we’ve never even played our new single live😿 so this video is the best we could do to get across the energy and passion behind it.
But in all seriousness, this industry is in trouble, so we encourage you to support the amazing people that make live events work, whose careers are apparently ‘not viable’ (we’ll see about that eh Rishi?🧐) via WeMakeEvents, and the venues that will struggle and may never reopen their doors, such as our own Guiseley Theatre, who kindly let us shoot this video for you
We WILL be back on a stage in front of you, we promise x

'What Did You Do' is a rhetorical, a comment on 2020, the year that changed the world. A soundtrack for the UK in ‘post lockdown’.
Written by lead singer Martha Phillips during lockdown the band self recorded the song in their homes, and is the first fully self produced track by Martha, who has spent the last 6 months working on her production skills. The lyrics read like a biblical warning; ”there’s a change coming, a mighty flood or something” Martha says, “ In 50 years time where are we going to be, what world will our children live in? When they ask, what did you do, what will you say? We’ve all learnt about the depths of the climate crisis, black lives matter movement, and our unequal society, but what do we actually do about it other than post on social media and use a few woke hashtags. I include myself in this question more than anyone! When I wrote this song I was struggling with the constant wave of ‘bad news’ from 2020, and looked inward. I imagined my future family, looking at me and asking “but mum what did you actually do?”, the answer right now is very little, but by raising the question for myself I hope to inspire others too.

LYRICS:
There’s a war starting
I’ll give it two years before there’s guns
This isn’t gonna be fun
I know change is needed
I know it’s inevitable
And all my days are done
So bury your head in the sand
Oh There’s a change coming
A mighty flood or something
This is your warning
All my Gods are angry
Because I set their house on fire
Blinded by my desire
Too late for a bucket of water
I’m led like a lamb to the slaughter
Choking on the fumes, you won’t see it on the news
Lest you know who sent the order
Oh There’s a change coming
A mighty flood or something
This is your warning
Oh There’s a change coming
A mighty flood or something
This is your warning
Your stocks and shares won’t mean a thing
When the water rises and we’re all starving
And fighting over the last oak tree
Gasping for a breath of the old ordinary
From fashion to rations and riches to poor
Radiation burns and temperatures soar
And riots will reign like never before
Our people have failed us, I want no more
Oh There’s a change coming
A mighty flood or something
This is your warning
Oh There’s a change coming
A mighty flood or something
This is your warning
What will you do?
When your children ask “where were you?”
What will you do?
When your children ask “where were you?”
What will you do?
When your children ask
And they say, “what did you do?”
Because there’s a change coming
