There's only one more thing to do in town before we head back out into the wider world and that's gearing up. While the equipment we have right now is fine enough, the shops in town have a good stock of new items and the fountain minigame has a chance of giving us highly magical equipment that's awesome.
The fountain minigame has skill to it, requiring you to time your throws correctly so that you maximise your chances of the lucky medals to fling reaching the centre. Luck has its part to play however, in both where it will settle and what items you get. There are still more lucky medals for us to find however and there is an encounter later on which has a chance of dropping them, which can be taken advantage of if you know how.
What upgrades we don't get at the fountain we'll buy in the shops with the large piles of money the party has. I've found that I quite like item management in RPGs, especially when you end up debating the merits of certain setups and if you should part with a trusty piece of equipment that's served you well but is starting to be outclassed. Good equipment is as much a part of a successful party in an RPG as strategy, party member composition and a small amount of luck and it's one of the few bits you have a lot of control over, so make sure you get it right is important.
As to where Isaac and his friends are going after gearing up, we have some unfinished business way back near the start of the game. There's someone that needs rescuing from their captivity that only we can free.
There were many small cuts in this video due to minor audio issues. No commentary was lost.
