How does one prepare for the NCLEX exam? THEY TAKE MOCK NCLEX exams!
👉 Trust your gut
If you have an answer you believe to be the one, choose it. Read thoroughly, use your knowledge base, and answer. Your instinct has led you in nursing school and it will help you act as a nurse. Trust it.
👉 Prioritize your mental health
Test-taking anxiety, study stress, and feelings of *pure* overwhelm are real & common, prioritize your mental health by getting plenty of rest, taking breaks for distraction or exercise, and talking to others. Know you are not alone & you are entirely capable!
👉 Have a study plan
Studying blindly and without organization is a major mistake that students make when prepping for the NCLEX. Create a plan for each day, topics & material, a set number of practice questions, and lay out a timeline.
👉Read & study EVERY rationale
Even if you got the question correct, read EVERY rationale and explanation. NCLEX questions tend to follow trends, so the information in the rationales will likely help you answer future questions
👉Take breaks & exercise
Yes, studying is a priority. But you HAVE to prioritize your own wellbeing as you prepare. Take breaks to walk, run, read a book, or sit outside.
👉Focus on the main ideas - not the small details
You’ll become saturated with information VERY quickly if you focus on the tiny details or a single sentence in a 750 page textbook. Focus on the main ideas, how body systems work, key interventions, and work to truly grasp and understand them.
