Once a world leader in renewables, the nation will miss all of its environmental goals unless the government realigns its energy policies.

As progress continues to be made towards Germany decarbonising, some have been questioned whether Energiewende progress is as successful as has been proposed. Recently, the German media has been reporting that there is a danger of Germany missing climate change targets and that German climate change goals in general are under pressure.
