This educational film was produced in 1951 by the US Government's Civil Defense branch shortly after the Soviet Union began nuclear testing. It states that a nuclear attack could occur anytime and shows children how they should behave in the event of such a disaster. At the time, the film was the cornerstone of the government's "Duck and Cover Campaign." Almost 60 years later, we can now appreciate and laugh at the futility of somehow ducking a nuclear attack. This film is a great reminder of a Cold War culture in American history.
