Tchaikovsky October Piano Tutorial (Synthesia) Autumn Song The Seasons Op.37a No.10 in D Minor shows you how to play this piece in video format. The Seasons were a series of 12 piano pieces written in 1875-6 for publication one per month, and was commissioned by Nikolay Bernard. Each piece was associated with an epigraph or poem by Bernard. October is marked Andante doloroso e molto cantabile, and begins with a melancholic and lyrical theme, which later goes to F major for a sunnier mood, before a more intense or passionate section which continues the use of triplet notes and a replying voice in the left hand, before a return to the first theme, followed by a conclusion that feels like drifting away.
