[ Ссылка ] In Bangladesh, three supervisors at a clothing factory that went up in flames killing more than 100 people have been detained by police.
The arrests came as textile workers took to the streets in Dhaka's Ashulia district in sometimes violent clashes to demand safer working conditions and punishment for those responsible for the fire.
Police say they are investigating claims that the three detainees had ordered staff to remain in the factory as the flames took hold, telling them it was a fire drill.
The owner of Tazreen Fashions, who disappeared after the blaze, was found and was also questionned by police.
They want to know why his factory was nine storeys high, when it should have only been three.
Police are also investigating the possibility that the worst industrial fire in the country's history was started by arsonists.
The industry is enormously important to Bangladesh. Only China sells more clothing overseas. But working conditions are notoriously poor and wages sometimes below 30 euros a month.
The US retailers Sears and Wal-Mart each had to issue statements distancing themselves from the factory's activities.
