Soundless footage of the Ethiopian emperor, Haile Selassie I, meeting with figures from the Nigerian military government which was formed after an army mutiny in January 1966.
The emperor, who was on his way to Senegal, was making a brief stopover in Lagos. He was greeted by the Head of State, Major General Aguyi-Ironsi who introduced him to the four military governors (including Lt. Colonel David Ejoor and Lt. Colonel Odumegwu Ojukwu who are captured on film); Lt. Colonel George Kurubo, the Chief of the Air Force; Commodore Joseph Wey, the Chief of Naval Staff; and Lt. Colonel Yakubu Gowon, the Chief of Army Staff (who is seen walking across the tarmac while in conversation with the emperor).
