Estimation of total cholesterol from serum sample by Zlatkis method 👩🏻‍🔬....


1. labeling 4 tubes as blank, standard, Test and HDL
2. Adding GAA (Glacial acetic acid) in blank - 0.5ml, adding standard cholesterol in standard tube - 0.5ml... adding Cholesterol test in test - 0.5ml...& adding HDL solution in HDL tube - 0.5ml
3. Adding cholesterol reagent fecl3 & H2SO4
4. Take OD at 560nm

And calculate Total cholesterol, HDL & Ratio of total cholesterol and HDL

Normally value of total cholesterol in healthy human being - 200mg/DL


If Total cholesterol value is more than 200mg/DL...the patient have high risk of heart disease

Normal HDL value - 35 to 65 (males)
- 35 to 80 (females)

Normal Ratio - 5
