I do not own this video; it can be found on Burton's website (download only).

The Aerial 3D Displayis a laser plasma device by Burton that enables to create (true) 3D images in mid air. The device shown here is more precisely called SRV-5000 (Super Real Vision), which is a more compact and precise version of their Aerial 3D technology. What you see is a sequence of illuminant dots at a rate of 50,000 points/sec.
It also supports Kinect, making it possible to have a 3D avatar mimicking one's moves in real time.
Burton is planning on enabling polychromy in the next generation of Aerial 3D display, and is envisioning several uses for it such as advertisements and a new kind of fireworks.
The display device uses the plasma emission phenomenon near the focal point of focused laser light. By controlling the position of the focal point in the x, y, and z axes, it displays real 3D images constructed by dot arrays in the air.
Hardware specifications of the SRV-5000:
Light source: 6W
Resolution: 50,000 points/sec.
Display volume: 20cm*20cm*20cm
Power source: 100V
