Live cello masterclass with Gregor Horsch & student Kristaps Grīnbergs / RJAcademy 2020/21
Masterclasses of the Riga Jurmala Academy – live cello by the principal cellist of the Concertgebouworkest Gregor Horsch.
Born in Germany, Gregor Horsch studied at the Freiburg University of Music (Hochschule für Musik Freiburg) with Christoph Henkel and later at the RNCM - Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester with Ralph Kirshbaum. After graduating from the latter institution with honours in 1989, Horsch moved to the Netherlands, serving successively as principal cellist with the Netherlands Balletorkest (Het Balletorkest) and the Residentie Orchestra. He was appointed principal cellist of the Concertgebouworkest in 1997.

Cellist Antons Trocjuks began his studies as a musician at the 1st Children’s Music School, before studying with Eleonora Testeļeca at the Emīls Dārziņš Music Secondary School and with Dmitri Skolov at the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory.
After graduating, Antons turned his attention to creative work and concerts, playing as part of the fusion ensemble DAGAMBA.
He has participated in masterclasses with Natalia Shakhovskaya, Peter Bruns, Jeroen Reuling, Stephan Schrader and others, and has won many international competitions.
He has performed many times with orchestras as a soloist. He is now studying again at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music with professor emeritus Eleonora Testeļeca.
