The impeachment trial in the Senate had all the integrity of a Baptist church doing an independent investigation of itself for abuse charges. And with a president treating Congress like a fundamentalist pastor treats it's board of deacons, like a glorified suggestion box instead of a governing body, you just know nothing is ever going to get done.
How did we get to the point where we accept lying by so-called moral leaders as the new normal? It's been a drip, drip, drip affect. It starts in the home, of course. If abuse happens in a family, and it is covered up, then you have learned a valuable business art. If you can cover up abuse in a family, you can easily look the other way when you see abuse in the church. And if you can ignore abuse and corruption in your church, it's a piece of cake to ignore abuse and corruption in your government.
In this video, I discuss how were all groomed to lie and accept falsehoods. Lying is how we 'preserve the ministry'. Lying and silence about corruption shows 'loyalty'. When faced with lies, then people talk big about faith. When reality goes against you, faith is your only weapon against the obvious damning logic.
