Hello dear fellow explorers!
In this video we explore the hike that connects the Dingli Cliffs to the Blue Grotto. It was by far one of my favorite hikes out of all that I did in Malta. The views were outstanding and the region of Il-Fawwara is just pure raw nature with beautiful towering cliffs, long fields and the marvelous view of the ocean.
For this hike I highly recommend you get a Hiking App (we used All Trails) to guide yourself and to avoid getting off road too much. The trail is not very straight forward and it is REALLY easy for you to end up deviating from the main trail. That happened to us about three times and we were not even trying x)
The hike we did starts near the Radar Tower (Il Ballun) which is very close to the Dingli Cliffs bus stop where we got off. And then you start following the road facing east. After a while you get off the road and get to see the panoramic view of the Dingli Cliffs. And from there you get down and start following a trail.
Then a real fight starts when you have to decide if you want to venture into Private Property or not. The trail you see us following at the end of the hike was (supposedly) Private Property but we were not even aware. In the app it was not labeled as Private and we were not the only ones doing the trail, so it is kind of confusing to explain if you can actually do the trail or not, so do it at your own risk. Anyway, we got to the Blue Grotto at the end, and we were happy about it ;)
Hope you enjoyed it, thank you very much for watching!
Love you,
Sofia
