Painkillers provide relief in almost all types of pain, but how? Like the video and let's understand it with the help of 3D Animation.
Whenever you get physically hurt, the damaged cells of that area release an Arachidonic chemical. The cox1 and cox2 enzymes convert this chemical to another chemical named - Prostaglandins. Now, this chemical sends signals to your brain through the nociceptor nerves to tell the brain about the location of pain and wound. So this is how our brain perceives pain.
Now you take a painkiller to reduce this pain. This tablet gets absorbed in your stomach and small intestine and reaches your whole body through blood in just 30 minutes.
Let me make you aware of the fact that a painkiller doesn't know the location of pain in your body. So this is why it performs mainly two functions by circulating through your whole body along with the blood. First: It stops the production of the pain-causing chemical Prostaglandins by blocking those enzyme receptors. Second: It forces the nervous system to not to send the pain signals to the brain, and ultimately you find relief in pain.
