Happy New Year, viewers, and Happy Valentines Day too. College work has been heavy so far this year and there hasn’t been enough hours in the day to fit everything in. Fortunately, I now have some time to spare so welcome back to This is Your Life, now in its third series. How many I will do this year, I’m not sure but at least this is a start.
Having been on something of a Father Brown binge recently, when 7903 appeared in the first episode, I thought ‘Why not?’. Hawksworth’s engines don’t receive as much praise as they should and 7903 is a prime example. She hasn’t got that much to her, granted, but what she represents is very important indeed. Built in April 1949, she had a comfortable life until June 1964. She was saved from scrap in the early ‘80s and has had two periods of operation in preservation. She’s had experience with boat trains and has even, as I say, been partial to a whodunnit. I hope you will enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed making it.
Historical revision: Although the last main Western European battle of WW2 was on the 6th of May, VE Day is the 8th. Apologies.
As always, all audio recordings and visuals belong to their respective owners. I generate nothing via their use in this film. The music credits are linked below.
Thanks very much for watching, viewers. Will there be any more? Wait and see.
