Most commonly simple gall bladder stones which are not symptomatic, which are usually detected on a usual ultrasound examination. Patients come with a diagnosis and says that they have a gall bladder stones. These patients, we do not suggest them surgical procedures, but to avoid a surgical complication, the patients are subjected to laparoscopic removal of the gall bladder. We perform this surgery under regional or general anesthesia and it is performed with 3 or maximum 4 of the port sites. The sites range from 5 mm to 10mm.Usually the naval admits about 5 mm to 10 mm telescopes to visualize the abdominal cavity. The Gall bladder is visualized and a laparoscopically dissected out from the liver bed, after disconnecting from the biliary system. The next is the conventional or the open gall bladder surgery. We don’t usually practice open surgery unless we have warranted conditions like hernia or warranted conditions where hernia or other surgeries are performed in the upper abdomen, or suspected cancerous condition, or infective conditions, where the gall bladder has formed a mass or a fistula. These are the conditions where we may opt for the conventional surgeries. Other condition for gall bladder surgical procedure are in gangrenous who are suspected for cholectstectomy and cancerous gall bladder, that is cholongiocarcinoma of gall bladder is also operated laparoscopically or conventionally.
