Kenyan long distance runners, they are running machines. Kenya has produced many legendary long distance runners in the past century’s.
They probably have genetic advantage, high red blood cell volume from training at altitude and they all train like professionals out here.
But what other factors might contribute to their succes? I have been training with the Kenyans for several months now. And I can assure you that there is definitely no 80% easy and 20% hard rule around here.
Here are a few of the many examples where the pace is progressive in most aerobic runs and my HR starts to rise to Zone 2 Haert Rate. These are all just regular morning runs they perform besides the though sessions.
