Has there ever been a crazier race circuit in the world? A flat-out blast through the outskirts of Berlin. Welcome to Avus circuit! The original track from 1921 was 19,5 km (12 miles) long – each straight being approximately half that length, and joined at each end by large-radius curves. Rising speeds forced several shortening of the track and a chicane was added. Plagued by mounting safety issues, the Avus staged its last race in 1999. 🤷♂️
Here we are in 1994 with an epic DTM battle between Rolland Asch (black Mercedes 🚔), Kurt Thiim (yellow Mercedes 🚖) and Stefano Modena (Alfa Romeo 🚘).
