For my first project using Unreal Engine, I set out to re-create one of my favourite scenes from the Disney film Treasure Planet. While the core of the action and sound design remains the same as the film, I have put my own spin on elements such as the environment and character design. I hope you enjoy it!
All of Jim’s animations were created in UE5 using the MetaHuman control rig and the Live Link Face app. His hair and clothing are both custom creations (the clothing was created by artist Nastassia Petkevich in Marvelous Designer which I then textured and simulated) and his skin textures were modified using Substance Painter. I used Blender, Marvelous Designer and Substance Painter to model, animate, and texture the Solar Surfboard (including the sails and motor). Everything else was done in UE5 (with the help of some marketplace packs and Quixel Megascans assets to create the environment).
