Today on this 2015 Toyota Tacoma we're going to be showing you the BAKflip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover, part number BAK26406. Whether you're on the road a lot, carrying cargo, want to keep your truck bed clean or cover up the mess of your truck bed the Tonneau Cover is the perfect thing for you. This is a custom fit Tonneau Cover designed to fit your Toyota Tacoma specifically. Also the tri-fold design allows you to gain access to different parts of the truck bed without having to completely fold it up when necessary. This has an aerodynamic style which reduces noise and wind drag and it sits flush with your truck bed rails for a nice sleek look. The rails themselves are made from rust proof aluminum, it has a black powder coat finish which also resists rust and corrosion.
It has rubber seals on all sides of it which will make the interior as water resistant as possible. It also has drain hoses on the inside, which will guide the water out of the truck bed onto the street. Now to use the Tonneau Cover it's very simple all you do is first open up the tail gate and then there's two latches on either side of the Tonneau Cover which you open by pulling these draw strings here down. There's one on each side and it doesn't matter which one you use and you can lift it up in sections, like I said before and again this will make it so you can get into or out of the truck bed without having to open it up completely to load it. Now when you want to fold the Tonneau Cover up completely then you go to the last section here, pull down on the latch, lift up gently. Then we'll take our prop rods here put those into place, do this for both sides, now we're ready to drive around with it open. You're going to want this in this position for the situations where you have cargo that's going to protrude past your Tonneau Cover such as ladders or even in some cases bike racks. Now that we've gone over some of the features let's show you how the Tonneau Cover's installed.
I'm going to go ahead and start here on the passenger side side rail here. You have these two tie downs as well as two tie downs on the driver's side, these will have to be removed to install the Tonneau Cover and they cannot be used once you remove them. Let's go ahead and take off our little end cap here, push in, slide them out. Now of course if you're ever to take of the Tonneau Cover for whatever reason to haul things you always can reinstall those to use them to tie down your cargo. Now we're ready to go ahead and put our metal brackets in that hold down our Tonneau Cover. Now we have three for each side since this is a Crew Cab, if this was a Short Bed Cab you would use four.
Now they come in the packaging like this, all you have to do is loosen up the screw here a little bit, which makes it easier to slide up and down the track here, ideally. Slide them down and just kind of guesstimate where they're going to be, because once you have the Tonneau Cover rail in place you'll be able to get more of an accurate placing for them. I'm going to go ahead and repeat this process on the driver's side. If it has a drop in bed liner you don't have to worry about putting the seal up at the bulk head here. If it doesn't have a drop in bed liner you do have to put the seal in. Now even though this has a drop in bed liner the way that it sets we still need to put the seal just to meet up with the Tonneau Cover once it's installed.
Now the first thing you want to do before you install the seal is you want to clean it off with a little bit of alcohol, which we're going to do now. Make sure everything's ready to stick nice and well. Okay next we're going to take our seal here and kind of set it right along where we're going to have it placed, kind of measure it out so we know where to cut it. Go ahead and remove our seal here a little bit at a time and start bringing it into place. Once we get to this point we will go ahead and cut off the excess, now our seal's in place. All right with the driver's side done and ready we'll go ahead and install our passenger's side rail here. Try to line up the bolts as much as you can, where they need to be, then just make sure they slide into the slots like so. Line it up so we match up with our driver's side. You want to make sure this is as flush as possible at the bed rail. That looks to be pretty good there. Now the next step is to tighten down our clamps here to hold the Tonneau Cover rails to our bed rails. Now we're going to tighten down our clamps, as we said before, now you're going to have to use a wrench for this, because in this case we couldn't get any sockets or anything
