What was the Tabernacle?
The Tabernacle was a portable tent that served as the Israelites' place of worship during their wanderings in the desert. It was a sacred space where they could meet with God and offer sacrifices.
Exodus 26:7-14 provides instructions for constructing the outer layer, or tent, of the tabernacle, a portable sanctuary used by the Israelites during their #desertwanderings. Here's a summary:
Materials and Measurements:
#Curtains: Make eleven curtains from #goathair. Each curtain should be 30 cubits long and 4 cubits wide (the exact size of a cubit is debated).
Assembly:
Grouping: Divide the curtains into two sets: five and six curtains each.
Connecting: Sew the curtains within each set together edge-to-edge.
Overlap: Create an overlap at the front of the tent by doubling over the sixth curtain in the second set.
Fasteners: Make fifty #bronzeclasps and use them to connect the two sets of curtains, forming a unified tent.
