The AirMedic concept is a proposed ambulance aircraft for the timeframe of 2035. It is a vision project for Dutch design agency MODYN and a thesis for MSc Integrated Product Design at TU Delft, the Netherlands.
The AirMedic proposes solutions for the integration of workflows and equipment into an entirely novel vehicle. It is aimed at replacing current medical helicopters, which are costly and lack adaptable solutions. Next to saving costs and catering to the medical staff's needs, it also saves lives. It is half the size of a helicopter and therefore able to land closer to the patient. It is also part of denser network with shorter and consistent response times.
The interior design focuses on adaptibility, with entirely modular storage compartments, sliding chairs, a remote controlled stretcher with integrated storage and a multifunctional patient monitor.
