The magnificent #derawarfort , built in the ninth century, is situated in Pakistan's #cholistandesert , close to Ahmad Pur Sharkia in Yazman Tehsil of Bahawalpur. The fort was constructed in the ninth century by a Hindu ruler of the state of Rajhistan. Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan, a Nawab of the state of Bahawalpur, later conquered it and rebuilt it with baked bricks. For the past more than 200 years, the Nawab family has held control of it. Ahmad Pur Sharkia, a fort located 40 kilometres from Dera Nawab, is still standing after 13 centuries.
This fort is a cultural and historical treasure of the Indo-Pak region, but sadly, it is rapidly deteriorating and on the point of collapse. There are a lot of tourists who come to this fort, but there is nothing in place to help them become a source of income, such as entry tickets. The fort could generate a lot of money if it were renovated and kept up, and the Cholistan locals might benefit from this money. If the hotel rooms in "Shahi Mahallaat" are fixed and maintained, even tourists will be able to spend the night there. For this appeal to be heard, please add your thoughts or comments below.
Events can be planned to draw attention, one example of which is the annual Cholistan Jeep Rally, when rally participants stay inside the fort. Because the fort construction is not worth staying in, I'm not sure if they go camping or something.
