Nombu Kanji / Nonbu Kanji is a porridge made during the ramadan season to break the fast in the evening.
Nombu Kanji is a nutritious gruel made of raw rice and dal, cooked to a smooth porridge consistency and seasoned with spices.
Nombu Kanji recipe was first developed by Mr Pulavar Asan Mohideen belongs to the PULAVAR family, a Tamil hotel owner in Burma. Later he introduced, Nombu Kanji in his home town in Shengottai, Tamilnadu, India.
