This presentation gives an overview of the brain and especially those areas related to the emotions. Information on the brain is presented in a simple, understandable language that provides a foundation for those who wish to include an understanding of the brain and mind into their counselling and clinical practice.
Topics presented include neurobiological processes of stress and anxiety and their effect on behaviour; the social brain; mirror neurons and interpersonal neurobiology; behaviours such as ADHD, Alexithymia, Compulsive Disorders and Learning Difficulties.
