The remains of Afghanistan's assassinated president Mohammad Daud Khan, which were found last year after being missing for 30 years, were reburied Tuesday in a ceremony attended by the current head of state, Hamid Karzai, and the country's elite. The 1978 coup in which Khan and 17 members of his family were killed ignited Afghanistan's civil war, and led to decades of strife.
