Hi everyone i was given some beautiful organic homegrown passionfruit both purple and yellow variety so I thought let's make jam.
No recipe just basic stuff equal parts fruit to sugar.
Only 3 Ingredients!! No added pectin needed.
Passionfruits whole
lemon juice(and zest if preferred)
Raw cane sugar
Once you have you base down change it up and make your own recipes.
That is all you need it is so easy it just takes time.
Directions
1 . wash passionfruit well in soapy water
2.rinse well leave to soak in sink while cutting fruit.
3.cut fruit in half scoop out seeds and pulp into clean jar store in fridge for later.
4.add 1 to 1 1/2cup water to that rinds cook on stove for 1 hour pour into bowl with liquid.
5.cover leave for a few hours or preferably overnight
6. Next day - scoop flesh from skins into blender or just roughly chop if preferred add 1/2 to 1 cup cooking liquid to blender to help puree ,discarding skins they are like eggshells in your jam and nobody want that!
7.add a minimum 1/2cup lemon juice, I used about 3/4 cup in total today (tasting it )but i didn't use zest but it can be added.
8.measure combine about of fruit and juice in measuring jug pour into cooking pot.
9.measure equal amount of sugar to fruit I use raw cane sugar today but any sugar you like is fine.
10. stir over low to med heat until sugar has dissolved
11. Skim off foam and some seeds if preferred i dont worry to much about it cook jam until gel point.
12.fill jars and water bath can for ten minutes thats it.
Have a go get way of using up passionfruit and great for gift giving 🙂
