The Unity Digital Twin demo was demonstrated at Hannover Messe 2024, showcasing the immense benefits real-time 3D assets bring to operational monitoring. We've overlayed a physical machine from BoschRexroth with rich, live telemetry and Power BI data to visualize data in context.
Another part of the demo shows how the Digital Twin can remotely control the physical machine by triggering Azure functions. Need to adjust the machine's operations based on the latest data? The digital twin has you covered. Imagine you're hundreds of miles away from the physical machine. With this technology, distance poses no restriction. The Connected Digital Twin is more than a static visual representation. It’s connected to a behavioral model to control the kinematics, replicating linear motion devices that maneuver the gripper with precision. You can monitor and manipulate this model in real-time, seeing every motion played out digitally before it happens in reality.
The replica is tied to its physical counterpart using Microsoft Azure IoT Hub. These cloud-based services enable the digital twin's connection to the physical machinery, forming a closed-loop feedback system. This digital twin reaches out to the Azure endpoint, requesting and receiving the real-time telemetry data of the actual machine. You can monitor conditions, predict issues, and enhance productivity with the digital twin technology powered by Unity and Microsoft Azure.
