Ghee in Ayurveda is considered as a holy medicine. Since it has lot of good properties like it is rich in oil-soluble vitamin A & E, K2.
Ghee is used as a great detoxifier to cleanse the body. Also regular consumption of ghee builds good immunity for the body.
But this can be only expected when the ghee is pure and unadulterated.
So there are a lot of easy ways that can be done.
👉 Heat Test: Heating a teaspoon of ghee in a vessel. If it turns dark brownish its pure.
👉 Palm test: If a teaspoon of ghee melts by itself in your palm it is pure. Our normal body temperature melts pure ghee.
👉 Vegetable oil Test: Start by taking a teaspoon of melted ghee and mixing it with a pinch of sugar in a transparent bottle and shaking it. After that let it stand for 5 minutes. if red color appears at the bottom of vessel it is adulterated with vegetable oil.
Here in this video we are trying to detect any kind of starch adulteration in ghee.
You can carry out this test at home by adding 3-4 drops of iodine in ghee and mixing it properly.
If the color turns dark bluish then there is starch.
