Around 4,700 people from Fort Nelson and the nearby First Nation are still waiting to find out when they can return home after the Parker Lake wildfire forced them to leave their communities a week ago. On Saturday, the Doig River First Nation hosted a dinner for wildfire evacuees in Fort St. John. The event originally planned for 200 guests saw almost 1,500 attend.
