Our carnivore team gave excelsior hay (wood wool), which was donated recently, with maple extract to our painted dogs and cheetahs. As you can see, the painted dogs loved it! The cheetahs, on the other hand, seemed more curious about keeper Emma’s presence. Maple extract is one of several sensory enrichment items we offer in rotation, to encourage the natural behavior of scent marking and interacting with different smells in their environment.
