There's a long COVID microbiome that seemingly contributes to symptoms. People with long COVID, aka Post acute covid-19 syndrome (PACS), aka long haulers, experience long term effects from a COVID-19 infection. This includes fatigue, hair loss, brain fog, digestive problems & more.
There's actually a lot of data on this, 3 years in to the coronavirus pandemic. But a new piece of evidence just published tells us a lot more about it. The new study looks at how vaccination with an inactivated COVID-19 vaccine changes the microbiome.
On it's own, it's not all that remarkable of a study. But when you couple it with other data, it's actually pretty amazing. It may give us insight into how long COVID develops AND how to treat it by addressing the gut dybsiosis associated with it.
Interestingly, addressing the gut microbiome may be a way to either manage symptoms or, even better, eliminate long COVID altogether. Theoretically, it could lead to a way to prevent developing long COVID altogether.
In today's video we briefly discuss what this specific study shows. In part 2, we discuss how this relates to long COVID & what it tells us about how long COVID develops.
