As our nation marks the 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence, Thatoyaone Gaobepe is speaking up on the abuse of men.
Gaobepe was sexually assaulted in police holding cells at the Mmabatho Police Station in Mahikeng. He is using his experience to bring hope to many other men who have suffered in silence and isolation.
Gaobepe was repeatedly raped by two other male detainees after he was arrested for drunken driving and overloading in 2010.
