One of the easiest and best places to lose weight on the 350Z is in the stock doors. Gutting the doors includes the window regulator, window motor, glass, speaker, wiring, switches, handles, and the extra steel skin that isn't needed. The drawback to this is the car is no longer closed off to the elements. When driving to the track, I wanted some basic windows to keep the cold and rain out. The hard part on the Z is the windows are frame-less. My set-up is hardly practical for a daily driven car or one that is kept outside, but for a street legal track car, they get the job done. They are made from a flat piece of lexan; they are bolted to the door with some straps to hold the top of the window in. They're cheap, easy to pop in/out, and help with the elements.
