According to lore, ghost children guard the intersection of Villamain and Shane Road in south San Antonio Texas. This is the mysterious story of the San Antonio Ghost Children.
The legend began around the 1940s, when a bus full of children stalled in the middle of a railroad crossing, colliding with a speeding train. Ten children lost their lives, but according to locals, their spirits still haunt the area.
Any vehicle stopped near the intersection will inexplicably be pushed across the tracks to safety. It’s believed to be the children’s spirits preventing innocent people from sharing their gruesome fate. One account from Brenda Pacheco claims she, put her car in neutral, took her foot off the pedals and the car moved!” This has been tested countless times, police have to patrol the area to keep traffic moving.
An explanation could be the tracks sit on a downward incline, allowing the vehicles to move with gravity. What it doesn’t explain are small handprints appearing on the back of cars. Along with Many attesting seeing apparitions in photos, the sound of children’s laughter and screeching wheels while at the site.
